1. Quick summary (TL;DR)
Short version: The app primarily works on your device and does not collect personal information like your name, email, or photos. We request only the permissions necessary for the app features (e.g., display over other apps, notification access) and we do not sell or share your personal data.
Play Store listing: This policy is prepared to be clear and to match the Play Store Data Safety expectations for the app: com.dynamicisland.notchscreenview.
2. Information collection — what we (might) access
We believe in minimal data collection. Below is a clear table describing the types of information and whether we access them.
| Type of Data | Do we collect? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Personal information (name, email, phone) | No | Not collected by the app. |
| Contacts | No | Not accessed or stored. |
| Device identifiers (advertising ID, device model) | Only if third-party services (analytics/ads) are in use | Used by analytics/ads providers for aggregated reporting or ad personalization. Not linked to your identity in our servers by us. |
| Usage & diagnostics (crash logs, feature usage) | Yes — anonymous / aggregated | To improve app stability and product features; may be sent to analytics providers (e.g., Firebase). |
| Notification content | No — we read only metadata via Notification Access (if granted) | To show brief notification overview in the island UI. We do not store or transmit notification text. |
| Location, photos, microphone | No | Not required for this app. |
3. Permissions we request & why
To deliver the Dynamic Island experience, the app may request the following permissions. You control these in your Android settings and can revoke them anytime.
- Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW / overlay): Allows the app to draw the island and related animations on top of other apps. This is core to the app’s functionality.
- Notification access: If you grant it, the app can receive notification events so it can present summarized notification status (like calls, messages, music). We read only notification metadata necessary for UI; content is not stored or sent to our servers.
- Internet access: Used only if needed to load remote resources (app updates, optional assets) or to serve ads. Internet permission does not imply the app uploads your private data.
Note: You can remove or change any permission via Settings → Apps → Dynamic Island → Permissions. Removing overlay or notification access will reduce or disable some features.
4. Use of third-party services (analytics & ads)
To improve the app, we may use reputable third-party services such as:
- Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics — for anonymous usage metrics and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve the app.
- Google Play Services / AdMob — to present non-personalized or personalized ads if enabled and to comply with Play Store ad policies.
These third parties have their own privacy practices. When they collect data, it is typically aggregate or pseudonymous. Please review their privacy policies for details (for example, Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy).
5. Advertising — how ads are handled
If ads are shown in the app, we strive to follow user-first principles:
- Ads may be contextual or personalized depending on ad network settings and your device advertising ID.
- You may limit ad personalization via your device settings or by opting out through Google ad settings.
- We do not share personal user data with advertisers beyond what the ad SDKs already collect under their policies.
6. Data retention & local storage
Settings, layout preferences, and small local caches are stored on your device so the app behaves the way you configured it. These are stored locally and are removed when you uninstall the app. Crash logs or aggregated analytics retained by third parties follow their retention policies.
7. Security
We implement standard security practices to protect data stored locally and to secure communications. However, no system is completely immune to risk. Please do not use the app for handling sensitive personal information. If you suspect a security issue, contact us (see contact section).
8. Children's privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us and we will promptly remove it.
9. Your rights & controls (GDPR, CCPA basics)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data. Below is a short, easy guide:
- Access & portability: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold (we hold minimal data).
- Correction: You may ask us to correct inaccurate data you provided.
- Deletion: You may request deletion — uninstalling the app removes its local data; for any server data (if any), contact us.
- Opt-out of sale: We do not sell personal information. If you believe otherwise, contact us immediately.
To exercise any rights, email us at hhmoliya24@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.
10. How to manage permissions & uninstall
To manage permissions: Settings → Apps → Dynamic Island → Permissions. To remove all app data, uninstall the app from your device and restart the device if needed.
11. Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes, we will post the updated date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or Play Store listing.
12. Play Store data safety checklist
For transparency with Play Store submissions, here’s a short checklist you can use when filling the Play Console Data Safety section:
- Personal Info: Not collected
- Audio/Photos/Location: Not collected
- Device Identifiers: May be collected by third-party analytics or ad SDKs (advertising ID)
- Diagnostics: Yes (crash logs, performance metrics — aggregated)
- Advertising: Yes (if ads enabled — may use advertising ID)
This checklist is a guide — use exact SDK behavior to complete the Play Console form (for example, list Firebase, AdMob, etc., if you include them in the app).
